It’s believed that he brought packages containing drugs and other items into Maghaberry for west Belfast bank robber Mark Cavanagh, who is currently serving a 10 year sentence and is due for release in September.

Prison officials became suspicious that Scott had become involved in a relationship with the female partner of a sentenced inmate.

The police were then called in to investigate.

He confessed to having smuggled drugs and mobile phones into the jail when he was arrested.

Scott is due to be sentenced on November 2.
