Pyper calls the tune

THE 18 hole weekend sweep at the Brown Trout was played in dry conditions with plenty of run on the ball.

William Pyper (13) made a welcome return to the top of the podium with a flawless round of 12 pars and 6 bogeys completing each nine in three over par. Billy opened with 21 before adding 22 for a total of 43 points to give him a winning margin of three from runner/up Tom Boyd (6).

Tom opened with two over par giving him 19 points and then completed the second nine in level par for a further 21 for 40 points score.

Two players finished with 39 points each and after the tiebreak Tommy McGowan (7) came through to nudge Mark Dempsey (16) into fourth spot and out of the prizes!

Both players with nines of 17 and 22 and the same last nine and last six were only separated by the best score at the 18th hole. Twos were scored by L. Harris, C. McConaghie, T. Boyd, S. Reid and R. Milliken (2).
