RNIB holds Mad Hatter’s TeaParty fundraiser

Carnfunnock Country Park was the scene for a nAlice in Wonderland-themed event recently, organised by Laura Lennox, to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Blind People Northern Ireland (RNIB NI’s) Children and Youth Service.

Over 60 people came along and really got in to the spirit of the day with some fabulous costumes.

To date Laura has raised over £1,700 and still counting.

Rosaleen Dempsey, RNIB NI Children and Youth Manager, said: “This was an amazing day. It’s fund-raising of this kind that allows us to continue supporting children and their families but also reach out to more and do more for others.

“A huge thank you to Laura Lennox for organising a great fun day.”

The event coincided with RNIB NI’s UK wide ‘Read for RNIB’ day. It began with a sponsored treasure hunt followed by a Mad Hatter’s tea party cake sale, face-painting and activities in the family fun zone. There were also lots of spot prizes throughout the day.
