Rockers Reunion at Nerve Centre

THIS year's Rockers Reunion will be held as usual at the Nerve Centre on Saturday, October 2. This year the line up brings together some of the best rock/metal bands from all over Ireland.

Ireland Maiden, from Dublin, have recently appeared on RTE’s Scrap Metal programme, which set out to find the best metal tribute band in Ireland. The band play a large section of Iron Maiden’s back catalogue and will appeal to young and old alike.

Also to take the stage are Bandwagon from Lisburn. This three piece heavy rock outfit are currently taking the country by storm with the release of their first EP Wasting Time. They’ve supported many top rock/metal acts currently touring these shores.

Next up will be local band Stargazer. They have been put together to play tribute to metal legend Ronnie James Dio, who died recently died from cancer. The band is fronted by Ireland’s best female rock vocalist, Jeanette Hutton and will play a selection of material from Rainbow, Black Sabbath, and Dio.

This year’s reunion sees Tokyo take to the stage for the first time since the 1980’s. A popular Waterside metal band will play a selection of their own material and covers. The four piece have said they will be getting back to play on a regular basis in the coming months.

And, finally The Jesters, a popular local act, who play a selection of rock and blues. They have generated a large following in recent years, playing to packed venues around the city and beyond.

Tickets for the Rockers reunion can be purchased from the Nerve Centre, Trash and the Foyle Down Syndrome Trust on Spencer Road. Tickets are priced 5. Those attending can also pay at the door on the night. Doors open 8pm to late.

All proceeds will go to the Foyle Down Syndrome Trust and the Little Orchids Special School in Gransha.
