Mr Duncan said: “Today’s announcement of 87 new jobs at McAuley Precision and McAuley Manufacturing is great news for Ballymoney and the surrounding areas. It’s a reflection of the highly skilled workforce that we have here in North Antrim and confidence in the local manufacturing industry.

“North Antrim has suffered heavy job losses over the last number of years so renewed investment is something that we should all welcome. It’s imperative now that we see a sub-regional investment strategy that will support the manufacturing and construction industry here. The problem in places like Ballymoney, Ballymena and across North Antrim isn’t a lack of work ethic, it’s a lack of work. We need to address that in a sustained way.

“Again, I want to pay tribute to people like Jonathan McAuley who are helping to revive local industry and contributing to prosperity for ordinary workers. Government must match their efforts and deliver for North Antrim”
