Security alert ends

Craigavon Area Commander, Chief Inspector Paul Reid can confirm that a policing operation in Lurgan, which had disrupted trains to Lisburn, has now ended.

All roads and the railway line have been reopened. The operation was put in place following suspicious activity in the area of the Bells Row railway crossing and a report that a device had been left on the railway line.

Chief Inspector Reid said: “ My officers have conducted a thorough search of the railway line and have found nothing of a suspicious nature.
