Shonee's success in Face of DV8 contest

THE winners of the coolest modelling competition in Northern Ireland have been announced after hundreds of would-be models battled it out for a coveted title over the past two months.

Final judging for the Face of DV8 model search, organised by top fashion retailer DV8 which has shops in Coleraine and Ballymoney, has taken place and the winners have been named as Helder Afonso (23), who lives in Dungannon and Carys Magill (17) from Belfast.

However, in an unusual move this year the judging panel, the first Face of DV8 and now a successful model in London, chose runners up in the contest because the standard was so high.

They are Shonee McWilliams (18) from Ballycastle and Jeffrey Turner (20), Downpatrick.

The successful Faces of DV8 fought off competition from hundreds of other wannabe models to come out on top. On the audition day in April at the retailer's flagship Belfast store an estimated three hundred contestants queued down the street in the hope that they would be chosen as the Face of DV8.

Eighteen finalists were selected and the winning boys and girls took the sought-after titles. Helder and Carys will represent the DV8 brand in all press, advertising and online campaigns for twelve months. They will also sign a contract with leading model agency Alison Campbell Models, receive 500 worth of DV8 clothes vouchers and have their hair styled by award-winning salon Paul Stafford Hairdressing for the year. Shonee and Jeffrey, as runners up, get 100 of DV8 vouchers, hairstyling with Paul Stafford Hairdressing and will be signed to Alison Campbell.
