Six-year-old boy knocked down in Currynierin

A six-year-old boy has been struck by a car in the Curryniern area today (June 10, 2015), the PSNI has confirmed.

A passerby told the Sentinel that the boy appeared to have been hit by the car, shortly before 4pm, as he tried to cross the street in the Tullymore Road area after getting off an Ulsterbus in the Currynierin area of the Waterside.

An ambulance attended the scene although the boy’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Shortly before 4pm today, Wednesday, police received a report of a traffic incident at Tullymore Road, Tullyally. “An ambulance also attended the incident, which involved a car and a boy aged six. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”
