St Patrick's Day event at Clondermot

THE Old Clondermot High School in the Waterside will be the venue for a Celebration of Irish Culture on St Patrick's Day next Wednesday, 17th March from 10am to 2.30pm.

Organised by the Shared City Project, the event promises to be a great day out for all the family with loads of activities and entertainment for everyone, including traditional Irish crafts such as knitting and crochet making, the traditional cooking and baking of soda farls, pancakes and apple tarts, loads of storytelling and fun outdoor activities for kids.

There will be Irish and Scottish dancing performances and a fun quiz on St Patrick. The kids can avail of an opportunity to get a ride on a Pony and Trap or enjoy some arts and crafts workshops. There will be a traditional Irish breakfast and Irish stew available on the day too.

Jeanette Warke said the event promises to be a feast of fun for all the family. “We have loads of things going on all morning from workshops to music and games. We will be getting everyone in the mood for celebration ahead of the Council organised carnival parade..”
