Terence Blacker meets school pupils in Finaghy Library

ON Thursday October 27, Year 9 pupils from Hunterhouse College and Rathmore Grammar School enjoyed the opportunity to meet prize-winning author and journalist Terence Blacker, in Finaghy Library.

Terence spoke about his writing, his work as a columnist with The Independent and the changing world of publishing from his time as the Editorial Director with Hutchinson. He also read some extracts from his books and answered questions from the audience.

Valerie Christie, Children’s Services Manager, Libraries NI said: “Libraries NI was delighted that Terence Blacker made a return visit to Northern Ireland. We were particularly pleased that, on this occasion, he spoke with a teenage audience and hope that, as a result of his visit, these school children will be encouraged to extend their own reading and writing skills.”
