Top marks for Alistair

ALISTAIR McMullan, from Portbradden, has won the N.A.F.D.’s Scales Award, after gaining the highest marks in the Diploma in Funeral Directing examination in March 2012.

After completing his A Levels, Alistair joined a food distribution company for several years before taking up a position in the Civil Service.

He worked with D.J.M. Robinson & Son on a part time basis for a number of years, passing his Foundation Certificate in Funeral Directing in 2009, before taking up a full time position in 2010.

In 2011 he completed and passed the theoretical examinations for the B.I.E. and is currently studying for the practical examination.

Alistair is married to Arlene and has three children – Kathryn, Lynsey and William. He is actively involved with his local church in Ballintoy where he was commissioned as a Parish Reader in 2006 and has been Honorary Treasurer since 2004.
