Mid Ulster police say the consquences could have been ‘catastrophic’ had they not stopped a 15-year-old girl speeding on the Cookstown dual carriageway.
In a social media post, they said a VW Passat was detected travelling at 82mph - 22mph over the speed limit.
The posts read: "It goes without saying that a 15 year old does not have the experience to drive a vehicle at such speeds on a busy road. The consequences could have been catastrophic if police had not intervened.”
