Police hunt men after van torched in Rosemount

A VAN has been torched in Rosemount.

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information following an arson incident in the Academy Road area in the early hours of Friday (August 30).

Just before 3am, police received a report of a van on fire. It is believed that two men were in the van before this, but when they couldn’t get it started, they set it alight.

In an entirely separate incident a man sustained a broken jaw following an assault on the Victoria Road between 3am and 4am on August 18. The man was attacked somewhere between the fisheries and Craigavon Bridge by a man wearing a black hooded top. Anyone with any information about these incidents is asked to contact Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
