The party said residents of the Foyle Crescent area had raised safety concerns over the high volume of traffic using the area.

The Chairman of the UUP Foyle Association, Ronnie McKeegan, said: “I, as Chairman of the local UUP Association along with Councillor Mary Hamilton and Ross Hussey MLA, have been working closely with the local community and the PSNI to lobby the Department of Regional Development (DRD) Roads Service after receiving several complaints from local residents who were concerned about the safety of themselves and their children due to the large volume of vehicles passing through the area on a daily basis.”
