UUP top poll in Knockagh
Ulster Unionist Andrew Wilson topped the poll in Knockagh District Electoral Area.
The chairman of Carrickfergus Policing and Community Safety Partnership recorded a first preference tally of 912.
However, with none reaching the quota of 937, anti-wind turbine campaigner Barry Patterson, with 104 first preference votes, was eliminated and Mr Wilson secured the seat at stage 2.
A delighted Mr Wilson said: “I am looking forward to the new super-council with the powers that are being devolved such as planning.”
