'˜Valuable asset' for Sunnylands showcased
Hundreds of participants enjoyed the free family activities at Sunnylands Community Garden.
Michael Clarke, chair of Sunnylands and Woodburn Community Development Group, said: “What a great turnout. The sun was shining and everyone had a great day enjoying activities such as grow your own workshops, bird box building, drum circle, garden games, and free refreshments.

Hide Ad“I would like the community to know that this garden is for the use of everyone, please come along and enjoy it.
“Thanks to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council staff for partnering with us to organise this event today. We look forward to working together again in future.”
Among those joining in the fun was the Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr Cheryl Johnston.
Cllr Johnston said: “I was delighted to attend this event and to draw attention to the fantastic community garden here at Sunnylands.

Hide Ad“Growing your own fruit and veg can provide a great sense of well-being and satisfaction when you see what you can produce through your own hard work.
“Community gardens are also beneficial to the environment and wildlife.
“I hope the local community will continue to enjoy and make use of this community garden, and to look after this valuable asset, so it can be enjoyed for many years to come. Well done to all involved.”
