A Royal Irish Regiment soldier - described as the epitome of a model soldier - touched all who knew him, mourners at his funeral heard on Thursday.

The funeral has taken place of Corporal Geoffrey McNeill (32) of the 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment, found dead in his barracks at Tern Hill, Market Drayton in Shropshire on 8th March 2014. Warm tributes were paid to 32-year-old Corporal Geoffrey McNeill by his family and commanding officer.

Full military honours were given to the 1st Battalion the Royal Irish Regiment soldier who was found dead in his barracks at Tern Hill, Market Drayton in Shropshire on March 8.
