In the hilarious video, groom Chris O’Neill from Rock, near Cookstown, persuaded a few famous faces to send good luck messages to him and wife Deirdre McElhatton for their Wedding Day, all in secret.

Not content with getting Tyrone GAA manager Mickey Harte, UTV’s Frank Mitchell, Country stars Nathan Carter and Niamh McGlinchey and former Cool FM DJ Connor Phillips in on the action, Chris went one step further and filmed a ‘Hangover/Back to Future’ themed clip to entertain his wife and guests.

The 31-year-old said he planned the whole thing in secret, telling only his two groomsmen who are also featured in the footage.

“I came up with the idea to do it and the first person I spoke to was Malachi Cush, he then put me in touch with a fella Cathal Hegarty from Benburb Productions, he was brilliant, I’m so pleased with how it turned out,” he told Belfast Live.

Several months in the planning, the video only took Chris and his Best Man Connor Devlin and Groomsman Stephen Neeson two days to film, all the while Chris’ new wife Deirdre was none the wiser.

He said: “I thought she might suspect something which is why I introduced the slideshow at the start. I think she may have overheard me asking the hotel if they had a projector screen so I made sure I had a story to cover it up.

“She was so chuffed with it and so surprised. She was also so proud of the two groomsmen as those two lads are normally very quiet, so for them to step outside their comfort zone in the way they did was brilliant.”

Chris and Deirdre tied the knot on July 13 in Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa, followed by honeymoon in New York and Cancun, Mexico.
