Archers move outdoors for summer season

BALLYVALLY archers have now moved outdoors for the summer season.

Club coach, Frank Mulligan, aided by Sam Jackson, has set out a 20 target course in the woods. Club members can shoot the unmarked course and then put in their scores for the peg/s shot. To move to a further distance a qualifying score of 100 for 12 targets is required for promotion.

Forty-two archers turned up on the first night last week and some good scores were recorded.

The next outdoor practice will be this week on Thursday June 21 from 6.30pm. There is also a four target marked course for those who wish to shoot the more difficult and longer distances. The course will be very useful for the 25 juniors who will be travelling to Wales to shoot in the UK Junior Field Championships in July. They will be held just north of Cardiff.

It will also be of great value to three members of Ballyvally who have been selected to shoot for Great Britain in the French Alps at Val D’Isere in August.
