On-form Berry was next home in 3:55:25 (pb) with Christine Murray was hot on her heels, finishing in 3:56:03. It crosses one more off the list of marathons Christine is running in memory of the club’s late coach and chairman, Greg Hopkins.

Lloyd, Julie Young and Irene Downey also ran strongly and were delighted to finish in 4:01:59 (pb), 4:02:39 and 4:05:23 respectively. Mandy Yau-Wilson had an excellent marathon debut, clocking 4:15:32; while Toal dug deep to achieve a well-deserved 4:58:13 (pb).

Also on Sunday, Harriers runner Ricky Mason was in Hampshire to take part in the Southampton 10k. He timed 1:04:02.

Earlier in the week, a trio of Harriers took part in the Queen’s 5k race. The fast, flat course around the Stranmillis and Annadale embankments suited the Harriers.

Club times: Graeme O’Hara 20:38 (pb); Natasha Henderson (21:06); and Louise Smart (21:24).
