B team beatleaders again

ANTRIM (2) LURGAN B (5)

For the second time this year Lurgan B travelled to league leaders and came away with a win.

Earlier in the season they went to Hollywood and secured a six point victory, this time Antrim on their artificial surface were the opposition and Lurgan obtained five valuable points.

Rink two skippered by Dan Dempsey assisted with R. Jones, R. McCarthy and V. Devlin used their experience from playing stadium bowls to gain a ten shot win, managing a few ends where they scored three shots and more, that went a long way in securing the win.

Rink three skipper W. McCullough along with J. Gilliland, D. Henderson and R. Livingstone found the going tougher, gaining the upper hand on nine of the 21 ends, which meant they finished with the deficit of 15 shots to 23.

Rink four consisting of Skipper E. Quinn, G. Stewart, B. Brown, and A. Houston fought a close dual with their opponents to lose by four shots 16-20.

Rink five after many changes throughout the season saw their rink reunited, with S. Neill, J McCullough, D McCabrey and N Sloan and they too fought a closely contended game, but this time they held their nerve at the close to finish with a six shot lead which secured the five valuable points.

Saturday see’s them host 1st Ballymacarrett, and Saturday week they conclude the season at Divis.
