Big trout on the move again

THE big trout on the main lake at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore are on the move again with three anglers landing double figure fish on Saturday.

Ronnie McFadden, Lisburn was the first angler to catch with his own olive pattern landing him a nice 12lb fish.

Ronnie went on to release a further 20 trout on the same pattern. Sean Gibson, Belfast was soon to follow Ronnie by catching a lovely full finned and tailed 11lb fish on a damsel and releasing a further nine fish.

Clive Flemming, Bleary, had a slow start to the day but ended his day by catching a 10lb trout on a nymph pattern and released a lot of fish, losing count of the number of trout he released after 10. All the fish were caught on floating lines and were all safely released back for someone else to catch another day. The fishery is hosting the Islandderry Trout Anglers charity competition in Aid of N.I. Cancer Fund for Children on Saturday 12 May.
