Capital to host Loreto's magnificent seven

A TEAM from Loreto College Coleraine, Specialist School, won through to the All-Ireland final of the annual seven-a-side camogie tournament last week.

The Mid-Ulster Arena played host to the Ulster Colleges’ tournament where schools from all over the north competed against each other for a place in the All-Ireland competition in Dublin next month.

The competition served up many exciting and enjoyable games, none more so than the B final between Loreto College, Coleraine and St. Louise’s, Belfast.

After half time, with only a goal separating the two teams - Loreto 3-0, St. Louise’s 2-0 - and with strong gales playing havoc Loreto raised their performance and scored a further 2-03 to ensure victory in the B section.

Loreto now go forward with the Ulster College’s A winners, St. Mary’s, Magherafelt to represent the North; fine ambassadors indeed!

The team members are: Therese Corrigan, Brnagh McKinney, Eils McNamee, Rosanna McAleese, Nicole O’Neill, Kristen Ingram, Maeve Lofthouse, Megan Kerr, Claire Tracey, Danielle Ferris.

Loreto principal, Brian Lenehan paid tribute to the team members and their coach, Bean Ui Mhainain, for their dedication in training and their excellent performance on the day, and wished them well on behalf of all the staff and students for their All-Ireland fixture next month.
