Cyclists brave the elements for a good cause

The attrocious weather conditions did not put off a great crowd who turned out on Sunday 5th January for a 30/50 mile charity cycle ride in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Disaster Appeal.

It was organised by Bann Wheelers Cycling Club in association with Eoghan Rue Gaelic Club. The event started and finished at St Malachy’s Parish Centre in Coleraine, where refreshments were served afterwards.

Organisers would like to take this opportunity to thank Donal McCrossan who organised the event, all the cyclists who attended in such terrible conditions and all the volunteers for the catering including those who donated goodies for the refreshments.

Thanks also goes to Ivan Goldsworthy and Andy Bate for doing the registration and signage for the event.

This was for a great cause and everyone helped raise over £520 for the Philippines Appeal which is fantastic. Hopefully they will get better weather for the next charity event.
