Drifters win Champion of Champions

DRIFTERS added yet another accolade to their roll of honour when they won the Champion of Champions competition at the Ballylumford Club in Larne at the weekend.

All the winners and runners up in their leagues were at the competition with 2 teams from Ballymena, Ballyclare, Larne Premier & Larne District.

The final was between Ballymena (Drifters) & Larne Premier (Lumford team) it was a great decider with most games going to the wire but again Drifters retained the title with a great show of style and some fantastic darts.

On Friday night the Blind pairs competition was played and again it was a great success with 42 pairs from both divisions joined for this competition.

It featured some outstanding performances with Joan Campbell hitting her first 180 and Fred McDowell & Samuel Balmer getting a 23 darter in the 701 game and Geoff Wylie & Alan Penny winning the Blind Pairs.

Commiserations to runners up Fred McDowell and Samuel Balmer and beaten Semi finalist were Nicole Dillon/Daniel Thompson and Tam Jameson/Jordon Barr.

Well done to all who took part and again thanks to the Social Club who hosted the event.

League action resumes this Friday evening, November 3, with the following matches:

Division One: Fairhill Bar v Clough Rangers; Slemish Tavern v Ladysmith; BT/PO Club v Drifters; Greenhills Bar v Diamond Bar.

Division Two: Fountain Bar v Social Staffies; Buffs Club v Michelin Club; Ladysmith Arrows v Fountain Arrows; Social Club v Ballee.

LEAGUE MEETING

The next meeting of the BHDDL will be held on Monday, November 5, at 8.25pm Social Club.
