Dunloy hit rivlas for six

THE weather was at its wettest on Saturday but fortunately no games were called off.

Hopefully the weather improves through the week to allow the grounds to recover for next Saturday.

Cookstown Olympic 4 v 7 Rasharkin United

Rasharkin took the lead after Joe Patton scored on the fifth minute then a goal scored by Lee McCloskey on the 30th minute put the teams back on level terms.

Rasharkin went in front again after Karl Smith scored on the 33rd minute but the home side equalised through Hugo Batista on the 36th minute.

Rasharkin took the lead for a third time when Lee Barr scored on the 41st minute but back came the home side with Barry Hughes scoring on the 46th minute then going in front after Lee Mitchell scored on the 51st minute.

Rasharkin levelled the game when Ian Parkhill converted a penalty on the 53rd minute and a further three goals scored by Ryan Christie, Lee Barr and Dale Armstrong on the 75th, 83rd and 86th minute won the game. Referee Mr Kenny Bigger

Dunloy 6 v 1 Clough Rangers Athletic

Though five goals separated the teams at the end the game was a lot closer than the score suggest and in the end mistakes cost Clough dear.

Dunloy race into a two goal lead through goals scored by Kevin McAllister and James Dixon on the ninth and 12th minutes.

Clough came back to equalise when Adie McDonald headed in from a corner kick on the 18th minute.

This scoreline remained until Kevin McAllister took full advantage of a mistake by Clough in not clearing the ball to score on the 50th minute.

Two more goals followed quickly with Paudie Shivers and John John McFerran scoring on the 53rd and 60th minutes.

As time was then running out Jamie McFerran completed the scoring on the 85th minute. Referee Mr Brian Leitch

Portglenone 6 v 3 Ballycastle United

Portglenone took the lead after Paul Storey scored on the 15th minute then doubled their tally with a superb 35 yard free kick by Mark McNicholl on the 17th minute.

Ballycastle pulled a goal back when Alex Campbell scored on the 28th minute but then saw Chris Kearns score for Portglenone on the 31st minute. Ballycastle cut the deficit again after john Joe Collins scored on the 36th minute but goals scored by Kieran Byrne and Paul Storey on the 38th and 40th minutes saw Portglenone three clear before Martin McGarry scored a third for Ballycastle on the 45th minute.

After the goal feast in the first-half the second in terrible conditions saw only one goal scored by Mark McNicholl on the 76th minute. Referee Mr Raymond Bigger

Junior Division One

Finvoy 0 v 1 Tobermore United Reserves

Finvoy were a bit unfortunate not to take something from this game and can certainly be happy with their performance as Tobermore are no easy team to take points from.

At the end it was a goal scored by Frank Niblock that ensured the points went to Tobermore.

Irish Junior Cup Round One

Bushmills United 2 v 1 Moyola Park Olympic

Moyola took the lead after Colin Overend scored on the 31st minute but then saw Bushmills draw level on the 40th minute leaving the teams level at the break.

The second half saw both teams create numerous chances but the one that mattered was the one taken by Bushmills on the 65th minute to win the game.
