First blood to Wilson as the Battle of the Kevins gets under way
With rain threatening and a fresh breeze, conditions were not ideal but Kevin Wilson edged out Kevin McAlinden for the fastest time.
This did not deter the nineteen riders who signed on for the 10 mile handicap event, The Weir Cup, run as usual on the Rathfriland Road course.

Hide AdAs usual thanks are due to the marshalls and time-keepers who make the races happen every week.
Kevin Wilson posted the fastest actual time (24.28) with regular fast man Kevin McAlinden (24.40) twelve seconds adrift.
This dual for supremacy against the clock between these two riders promises to be a regular feature in the coming weeks.
Ewan Anderson (25.32) was delighted with his time for this first trial as was the battling Chris Burns (26.10), who has one eye on the next Paralympic squad and is certainly putting the effort in.
