Domestic Licence granted

The club received confirmation from the IFA on Tuesday morning that their licence had been granted and therefore are permitted to compete in next season’s Premiership campaign.

However, in a letter from the IFA’s Head of Club Licensing and Facilities, David McVeigh, he warned the club that their finances would come under increased scrutiny should they fail to improve.

“The committee did express its concern at the projected substantial losses, following on from significant trading losses in 2010 and 2011, and would direct the club to prioritise addressing this continued negative trading position moving forward,” the letter read.

Failure to do so could see the club being required to take part in a monthly financial monitoring process by the Club Licensing Committee.

However, the positives were that the IFA were satisfied that the club had “met all of the required standards for the award of a Domestic Club Licence.”

Mr McVeigh also praised the efforts of those involved in putting together the application whilst Glenavon extended their thanks to all of the people involved.
