Rangers left frozen out

Grange Rangers again fell victims to the freezing weather conditions when their clash against Basement was called off after the Belfast City Council pitch at Grove Playing Fields was declared unplayable.

Rangers, currently bottom-placed in the Amateur League Division 2B, take another step in their fight for survival with a battle against Civil Service at Foundry Lane on Saturday.

“On our last outing three weeks ago we chalked up our first league win of the season, and manager Stephen King had high hopes of building on that. But we have been idle since then with two league fixtures and a cup tie falling foul of the weather,” said Rangers’ secretary Wayne Lewis.

“On Saturday we are scheduled to meet fellow strugglers Civil Service at home, and this is a must-win six-pointer for us.”
