Ten men ’Stute claim the points

INSTITUTE secured their first win of the new season on Friday night, when they defeated Tobermore United 3-2, at the Riverside Stadium.

The Waterside men raced into a two goal lead thanks to goals from Paddy McLaughlin and Declan McKeever, but they were reduced to ten men early in the second half after Ryan Semple was dismissed following an off the ball incident and the visitors pulled one back virtually straight away from the penalty spot through Daniel Gardner.

’Stute however sealed the win when Sean McCarron made no mistake after a goalkeeping error by Paul Wells, United did manage to find the net again when striker Neil Lamont scored in stoppage time.
