Town side earn wins over Loughgall and Craigavon teams

BANBRIDGE Town U9s were at the IFA Development Centre at Brownstown, Portadown on Saturday for another two fixtures.

In the first fixture they were narrowly defeated 3-2 by Loughgall with Loughgall taking the lead in the 5th minute. Toby Jones in the Banbridge goal pulled off three fantasic save sto keep his team in it but on 10 minutes Alex Innocenzi broke away with a great run and pulled back for Harry Annett Annett to slot home to level the scores.

Loughgall then took a further two goal lead to make it 3-1 while Banbridge made it 3 - 2 when Annett`s corner was headed firmly home by Josh Kerr.

Taylor Hill also went close with a great shot while defenders Bobby Jones, Finn Martin and Tom King all played their part in preventing any further goals leaving the final score at 3-2 to Loughgall.

In the second game against Craigavon, Banbridge were strong right from the kick off with some great link up play from back to front. Harry Annett gave them a 1-0 lead when he broke away to slot just inside the post with a low shot. Toby Jones then pulled off another fine save while Finn Martin and Bobby Jones were excellent in their clearances while still ensuring Banbridge kept possession.

On the 10 minute mark Taylor Hill then scored a cracking goal with a great shot into the top right hand corner to make it 2-0 while Josh Kerr then scored a third after a great dribbling run. Craigavon pulled two back in quick succession to make it 3-2 although Alex Innocenzi and Tom King can both take credit for great clearances when the odds were against them.

On the final whistle Annett`s run and cross was tapped in at the back post for Taylor Hill’s second of the game to leave the final score at 4-2.
