Warren set up top clash

Warren YM beat Ballynafeigh YM 8-1 to move to a point behind Premier Division leaders, Ballymacash YM in the South Antrim League, and the pair meet tomorrow (Saturday).

On target for Warren were Stuart Knight 2, Neil Donaghy 2, George Raileanu 2, Willy Hull and Colin Chapman. They also missed two penalties.

A Ryan Nixon earned Lambeg Rangers a 1-1 draw at home to Bloomfield III and Colin Halliday 2, Terence Morrison, Paul Hill and Curtis Moorhead were the scorers in Sandy Row’s 5-1 win away to Belvoir FC, who had a player taken to hospital.

Glaston got into action at last and beat Orangefield OB III 5-0 with goals from Jim Mullan 2, Paddy McCann, M. McLaughlin and Paddy Macklin.

South Antrim needed a win to stay in contention for the Diision 1 title and they did, smashing Clonduff YM’s 100 per cent record with a 2-0 win.

Gareth Johnston opened the scoring before being sent off after 20 minutes, but South sealed full points with a second-half strike from Stevie Matthews.

Two great individual goals from Luke Eastwood gave First Lisburn a 2-0 win over Clarawood YM.
