Golf: Wilson back to winning ways

The competition at the weekend was for the Dobbin Cup played in medal format.

Long serving member David Wilson (21) (just turned 60!! ) came through after a lean spell with a winning score of 85 less 21 for a nett 64.

Out in 44 Davy finished strongly with three pars in the last three holes to complete the second nine with 41.

Tom Boyd (10) took the runner-up prize with a nett 65. After an opening nine of two over par 37. Tom added a back nine of 38 for a total of 75 less 10 for nett 65. Highlight of his round was a birdie at the 4th hole.

Taking 3rd Prize Ronnie Milliken (5) opened with a level par 35 with a birdie at the 9th cancelling out a dropped shot at the seconnd.

Ronnie completed his fine round with eight pars and only the one concession again at the difficult 2nd giving him a total of one over 71 for nett 66.

Tommy McGowan (10) won the gross prize with a score of 77. The twos kitty was shared by Martin Coyle T. Boyd and R. Milliken.

The previous Thursday 16 hole Sweep was won by Ronnie Milliken (5) with 34 points. Lester McCloy (12) was second with 33 and Robert Orr (11) third scoring 32.
