Brilliant round as Neil wins monthly medal competition

Neil McMullan, off a 14 handicap, played brilliantly on the front nine and was only three over par.

Neil had a few loose shots over the next three holes but soon regained his concentration to finish a superb round as the outright winner with a nett score of 68.

The difficult conditions were well dealt with by Phillip Sheldon who won the best gross score with a round of 77 strokes. 
The section winners were as follows: 
Section one (0-13), 1st, Brian Weir, net 71; 2nd, David Erwin, net 72; 3rd, Graham McIlroy, net 72.
Section two (14-18), 1st, Andrew Barron, net 69; 2nd, Clive Knox, net 71; 3rd, Stewart Black, net 71.
Section three (19-22), 1st, Alan McGahie, net 69; 2nd, Keith W Robinson, net 69; 3rd, Paul Cassin, net 72.
Section four (23-28), 1st, John Stanage, net 69; 2nd, Connor McGinn, net 71; 3rd, Desmond McCarthy, net 72.
The winner of the Wednesday stableford was Paul O’Hanlon who shot a magnificent 43 points for victory, which was three points clear of Michael Biggart on 40 points who beat Gary Bradley on a better back nine for second place.

The fourth spot was occupied by Ian Little on 39 points. The best gross on the day was won by Niall Moore. 
In the Monday Seniors stableford Tom Crooks showed he was coming back into form with his score of 38 points. Tom beat Patrick Magee on a better back nine after he also returned 38 points. 

The Joint Captains evening was held last weekend and the Club Captains, Gary Watson and Heather Patterson, had a great turn out of members and friends for their dinner dance and buffet.

The prize winners collected their prizes from Gary and Heather and Lady Captain Heather was overjoyed to announce that her guests and friends on her Captain’s Day had managed to raise almost £1000 for her nominated charity, The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.
