Duffin takes Professional’s Day prize at Galgorm Castle
At halfway high handicapper Kevin Duffin, playing off 27, and 16 handicapper Tony Cheuk were vying for the lead three pointsahead of Graham Simms (15). James Smyth (9) was a further point behind followed by Norman Nicholl (18) another three points adrift.
Duffin (‘ding’ at thirteen) and Cheuk were still ahead by three points through thirteen from Smyth who was a point ahead of Simms. Nicholl was another two points away.

Hide AdDuffin followed up with another ‘ding’ at fourteen and Cheuk (‘ding’ on fifteen) were still three points ahead
with two to play from Nicholl who with a ‘birdie’ at fourteen moved ahead of Simms and Smyth (‘ding’ on fourteen) by one and two points respectively.
Cheuk, after a bogey at seventeen, lost his chance of victory when he ‘dinged’ the last.
This left Duffin in a clear lead as he finished with two bogeys to win by three points from Cheuk. N Nicholl (double bogey, bogey), Smyth (bogey, birdie) and Simms (two bogeys) finished together and with a better back nine third place went to Nicholl and Smyth with a better back nine took the fourth place.

Hide AdThe Gross went to Michael Reid (-1) and the Seniors winner was Ronnie Beckington (10).
Jamie Sutherland (Scr) won the Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin winner was David Stirling.
There was a beat the Professional competition at the Treasury which proved to be very popular.
