GOLF: Tankard filled for Peter at Royal Portrush

The nineteen handicapper scored a poor triple bogey seven at the seventh but still mustered 17 points for his front nine. A much steadier back nine however gave up 20 points.

This included a good birdie four at the par five seventeenth and twenty points were collected. This return nine score was enough to stave off the challenge from seven handicap Brian Martin. He picked up an eagle three at the ninth as he scored 19 points out. Brian only conceded three shots to par coming home to add eighteen to his card.

Third spot was taken by Eamon Hughes (4) with his effort of 35 points. Good birdies were scored with a three at the fifth and a four at the tenth but a blank at number seven was costly for Eamon.
