Ronnie Ross Trophy up for grabs at Faughan Valley

THIS weekend will see one of Faughan Valley’s most popular competition The Ronnie Ross Trophy, who was the clubs first Captain and held the position for three years, a time sheet will be in operation.

The following Saturday, July 28 Cecil King’s ‘Captains Day’, will take centre stage, the draw will take place next Wednesday evening, so make sure you have entered on the time sheet.

In the Mid-Week competition the winner was 22 handicapper Clifford Caldwell with 43 points, second spot went to Dan Hinds (3) with 40 points, with 24 handicapper Andrew Totton taking third place with 36 points.

The weekend saw the good weather bringing the golfers out, with a full card for the weekend competition which was won by Owen McGuiness with 39 points playing off 21, second and third spot was decided on a BOT between 5 players all scoring 38 points, with 17 handicapper Terry Dornan taking second spot and 22 handicapper Brendan Carton in claiming third position.
