Solid play over18 holes bringsreward for Keith

This nine handicapper played solidly over both nines. His day began with an opening par but he dropped three shots on the next two holes. A birdie at the fourth was a welcome addition. The next five holes comprised four pars to go alongside a bogey on the eighth. On the inward nine he birdied the tenth but ran up bogeys on holes fourteen and seventeen. Pars on the remaining six holes provided the smooth transition into the top spot. This five under par effort was his just reward.

Runner-up was Paul McCabrey with his tidy effort of net 66. His round comprised a good mix of birdies, numerous pars and a few bogeys. Birdies came his way at holes one, six, eleven, fifteen and eighteen. On the debit side he incurred bogeys on holes three, four, seven and fourteen. This gross 69 hoisted him into second place. Third net in this medal went to Timmy Cummins. Birdies at holes three and four pointed the way on the outward nine. Pars at holes six, seven and nine further consolidated his efforts. A birdie, bogey, par sequence signalled the start of his back nine campaign. He concluded his round with four pars and an eagle. The eagle came at the fifteenth. This net 67 secured him this podium finish.

Martin McAvoy recorded a gross 70 to snatch the weekly gross award. Playing off a two handicap Martin made few errors on this successful run. He fell foul of bogeys on holes four, eight and eleven. However birdies on holes ten, twelve and sixteen restored the equilibrium. Par figures on the rest of the holes guided him safely over the finishing line.

In the Low section thirteen golfers were ultra competitive with under par returns. A three under par total of net 67 enabled Dwaine Hanna to secure the honours. In the Middle division Andrew Campbell claimed the laurels with his effort of net 67. In the High section Tony Gordon was the only golfer under par and he duly scooped the category award.
