Inst Junior team perform well

Last Saturday the junior swimming team took place in the Ulster Minor Schools Championships in Ballymena.

There were some very impressive performances in the individual events, notably from Albert Dallas, Adam King, Owen Montgomery, Niall Evans and from Scott Kennedy who showed a lot of promise for the future in his first ever competitive competition for the school team. Adam and Niall swam very well to reach the finals of the 50m breaststroke and butterfly respectively and Owen swam a great final to finish in third place with a bronze medal in the group five butterfly.

The relay teams both put in excellent performances against some very strong opposition in both the relay events with both Year 8 and 9 teams gaining silver medals in the 200m freestyle event and bronze in the medley.

The Year 8 team was Albert Dallas, Ben Scott, Rhys Frazer and Andrew King and the Year 9 team was made up of Owen Montgomery, Adam King, Niall Evans and Andrew White.
