Ladies into semi final

LISNAGARVEY Ladies Seconds took on UCD Seconds at home last Saturday in the quarter final of the Irish Junior Cup.

The game started well with Garvey playing a good passing game and this gave them some early goal scoring opportunities but they could not convert.

UCD were strong on the counter attack and scored first, taking a one nil lead. Garvey didn’t take long to equalise with a great goal from Laura Wilson. Garvey continued to dominate the game with two more goals from Anya Coffey and Annabel Hylands.

UCD continued to fight for the match and got a goal back after a penalty stroke was awarded from a short corner. Garvey held on to win 3-2 and will face Hermes in the semi final on Sunday March 10 at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, Comber Road.
