Lyttle unhappy at dropped points

“I’m going to have to take a serious look at things. It seems that there are some boys who just want to play a game of football and aren’t interested in being contenders.

“We were 3-1 up at half time and going really well which makes it all the worse.

“Ryan Gurney scored a cracking goal from 35 yeards and we were well in control at that point.

“They then got one back before we got our second which went in off one of their defenders. We then went 3-1 up with a penalty before the break.

“I had a sneaky feeling that they would come out strong in the second half and they did just that. After they scored their second we just seemed to lose momentum and despite having numerous opportunities we couldn’t score.

“We have been training since June and when the First team play they are finishing strong because of their fitness levels. We aren’t doing that and that tells me that some players aren’t putting the effort in at training and that’s something I need to look at.

“We had young Josh Elliott play on Saturday. We have just signed him from Coleraine and a real positive was Chrissy Nicholl played in the second half. It was good to have him back from long term injury.

“Every point lost in this league is crucial so we need to step up our game. I want a squad who are interested in challenging and will be expecting a big improvement this week against the White Eagles at home.”
