Mark Molloy blows away the field during monthly medal

The July Monthly Medal was held in very windy conditions on Sunday 19 July and Mark Molloy blew away the rest of the field with a scintillating Nett 59. Playing off 19 he got off to an unsteady start but once he got past the fourth things started to happen for Mark. From there on apart from a 7 at the Par 5 12th he managed to restrict any damage to a one over par at wors tand the fact that he also registered 3 birdies did his cause no harm whatsoever.

Allan Mc Cook who figured a couple of times during the recent Open Week, continued to make his presence felt with a fine Nett 64.In normal circumstances this score would have sufficed to claim the top spot but Allan had to settle for Division 1 section on this occasion.

Martin Morgan’s rigorous gym regime is obviously paying dividends as he lifted the Division 2 section with a fine Nett 67 whilst Patrick Nixon playing off 20 came out tops in the Division 3 section with a Nett 68.

Also on 41 points was Colin Millar but Gerry’s stronger finish meant Colin had to settle for third place on countback.
