Medals for Larne archer Mitchell in Moscow

Larne teenager Jordan Mitchell helped Archery GB’s youth team continue its fantastic form as the squad won 12 medals at the Youth Cup second-leg in Moscow this week.

Mitchell picked up four medals in Russia. He won gold as part of the Compound Junior Men’s Team; silver in the Compound Junior Mixed Team, alongside Aalin George; bronze in the individual Compound Junior Men’s and a Europa Cup medal for his performances in Slovenia (first leg of the tournament) and Russia.

The compound team achieved a fantastic seven medals, with Mitchell beating Medina Adolfo of Mexico to win the individual Compound Junior Men’s bronze. He was also a member of the successful Compound Junior Men’s Team, alongside James Howell and Thomas Taylor, who defeated Mexican opposition to take won a well-deserved gold.

The 19-year-old (below) has competed for Great Britain at several junior international events since 2011. He won the Junior European Archery Cup Series in 2012, and recently helped win the Junior Men’s Compound Team Silver medal at the European Outdoor Youth Championships in Slovenia.
