Little lambs well looked after in 1977

The four Parks children had their hands full as lambing began on their father’s farm at Derryadd in 1977.

Many of the lambs for one reason or another lost their mothers and the four children, Allison (10), Amanda (8), Ashley (6) and Cedric (2) stepped into the breach as foster parents.

It was an active time for the youngsters with the arrival of twin lambs.

While bottle feeding goes on their father, Leslie, was looking for a ewe to take over each lamb.

With five or six bottle feeds each day it was quite the task although the children’s mother, Myra, took over while the older children attended their school duties.

Pictured are the Parks children with some of the lambs.
