Promotion hopes all but ended after 29 shot loss

DROMORE B promotion hopes are almost surely over following a 29 shots defeat at home to Moat Park from which they only took a point in NIBA Division Five.

At the tenth Tommy Wilson was 9-5 ahead but he dropped ten shots without reply over the next five ends and though Drlomore came back they dropped the decisive shot at the last end.

It was 9-9 at the tenth but Tom Sudlow was 11-19 down at 15 ends and lost by 14 shots.

Alan Sudlow failed to score while dropping 18 shots at the opening ten ends. Dromore were 3-25 down at 15 ends and lost by 20 shots.

At the tenth Sammy Malcolmson was 8-5 ahead and 13-11 at 15 ends before getting the only Dromore win by six shots.

- Kenny Aiken got Dromore’s only point against Portadown in NIBA Division One.

Dromore had several regulars missing due to illness and holidays and even the winning rink could only field three players.

An important date for indoor bowlers to remember is Tuesday, September 17 in St Paul’s Parish hall at 7.30 p.m.

Fixtures for the new season in the Lisburn Indoor Bowling League will be available for collection and Lisburn Zone information will also be available.
