F2 Stock Cars, Saloon Stock Cars, Speed Stocks, Euro Stocks and Group Two Lightning Rods make up the race programme at The Showgrounds oval, with Stock Car Irish Champion Christopher Kincaid very much the driver to beat in the F2 category.

Kincaid began the Raceway season with a hat-trick of wins on Good Friday and the Antrim Flyer will be aiming for a repeat performance this weekend. Keep an eye on star names Craig McConnell from Bangor and Conor Hughes from Antrim however, who are both more than capable of ending Kincaid’s winning streak.

Another Irish Champion hoping to carry the chequered flag on Friday evening is Ryan Wright. The Cullybackey Charger has been the top man in the Saloon Stock Car category for the past couple of seasons, and will aim to get his 2014 season at Raceway off to a successful start this weekend. Ross Houston, Anthony McIvor and Antrim’s Tommy McCrory will all be eyeing up Wright’s crown and hoping to cause an upset.

The Speed Stock drivers contest Round 2 of their Super Pole Series this weekend. Ballymena racer Noel Hazlett took the honours at Round 1 in his Vauxhall Corsa, with Steven McKane, Jason McCreight, Adrian Finnegan and Daniel Rodgers offering some stern opposition on that occasion.

As always the Group Two Lightning Rods have thrown up a number of different winners this season. Matthew Curran, Freddie Fleck and Stewart Nicholl have already tasted success in 2014, with David Gillespie and Jason Clyde both knocking on the door of a race win. Garvagh’s Stephen McCahon left Raceway undefeated at the opening Euro Stocks fixture of the season, with, Lester and Jonny McCloy, Philip Doherty and Irish Champion Stephen Doherty amongst the other contenders for honours.

The green flag drops to get racing underway in the Ballymena Showgrounds at 7:15pm.
