Second place still wide open in Triangle Darts League

WITH just two games played this week British Legion only managed a narrow win at the Montra in the battle for second place.

Russell Millar (4x100, 106 finish) beat Martin Barr (4x100,125, 137) to put Montra into the lead. Rodney Kane (100, 101, 121, 123, 134, 180) levelled the score with a win over S. Ramsey.

Colin Quinn (3x100, 137) put Montra back in front with a good win over Ian Patterson (6x100, 140) before Pollock McKay (2x100, 140) drew Legion level.

Each team won a doubles game and the Legion took the team game to win 4-3.

Sperrin secured the final top cup place with a 5-2 win over the Forge. Darren Boyd (2x100,140) put the Forge into the lead.

Johnny Campbell (4x100, 180) levelled the score before Tommy Campbell (2x100) and Nigel McVey gave Sperrin a 3-1 lead.

Sperrin then went on to win the two doubles games with the Forge taking the team event. Other good performances came from John Evangalista who recorded scores of 7x100, 125, 140.

The League sends its deepest condolences to Jane Elder on the passing of her family member.

Fixtures: Thursday, March 11 - Brook’s A v Montra; Forge v Scott’s Ladies B; RBL Coleraine v Brook’s Flights; Scott’s Ladies A v Sperrin.

County News

In the last round of County matches Area 1 lost 10-2 with Brook’s A player Barry McLaughlin amongst the winners.

Area 6 once again had to take the last two games to win 7-5. Brook’s Flights player Ricky Dunlop had a man of the match performance to win the last game to secure overall victory.
