Shooter Kirsty aims for Commonwealth medal this afternoon

The Shankbridge sharpshooter has reached the semi-finals of the women’s trap discipline at the Games in Glasgow.

Kirsty claimed one of the six qualifying slots for this afternoon’s semi-finals after hitting 69 of 75 targets in this morning’s qualifying.

She displayed great consistency by hitting 23 out of 25 in each of the three qualifying rounds to finish joint second with Cypriot competitor Georgia Konstantinidou, two points behind leading qualifier Catherine Skinner, from Australia.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place this afternoon at 3pm.

The bronze medal match is at 3.30pm while the gold and silver medals will be competed for at 3.40pm.
