St Peter’s on a roll

LURGAN side St Peter’s are on a roll at present.

They have extended their run to three straight wins, including league victories over Mullaghbawn and St. Paul’s, and a championship victory over Shane O’Neill’s.

The Whites had two astounding wins over the weekend which leaves the Freecrow men at the top of the second division.

St Peter’s defeated Mullaghbawn 1-15 to 1-9, and got the better of local rivals St Paul’s 3-15 to 0-9 which saw former Armagh minor player Niall McConville hit a staggering 2-16 over the course of the two league games.

The St Peter’s defence continues to excel, with players like new boy Drew Genesi, Sean O’Neill and Robbie Geary standing out and Whites goalkeeper Paul Wilson said that he would like to see the good run continue.

“We have won three on the trot, and it would be great to see the run continue,” stressed the All-Ireland under 21 medallist.

Emmett Haughian, a player who had been out with a long term injury, made his season debut against Shane O’Neill’s in their recent championship win and he can help build upon the current good form being shown by skipper Robbie Geary and Sam Marshall.

St Peter’s, who play Madden next time out, will be keen to maintain their winning run considering they have a tough championship game against Silverbridge pending.
