Stuart Suckling, Josh Murray, David McKee, Johnny McRoberts and Andrew McClintock all made the journey down to tackle the testing circuit.

Stuart and Josh were in the S4 race and the challenging technical singletrack circuit was ideally suited to Stuart who held third place for most of the race, before being out-sprinted at the line, finally finishing 4th.

Given the quality of the field, however, this was an excellent placing for Stuart.

Josh also finished a respectable 28th place.

In the S3 race, David McKee challenged for the first couple of laps and was in second place for the most of the race.

He started to wane towards the end due to a stomach bug that he had been suffering from and finished in fifth position.

Johnny also finished in the top 20 and would have been in the top 10 only for a crash that robbed him of valuable time.

Back home, the second road race of the club calendar was held on the Grove pub circuit. The fantastic weather last Tuesday night ensured an excellent turnout and made for a great race.

Mark Scott showed all a clean pair of heels, taking his first win of the season.

He was closely followed by David McKee and Mark Lyttle.

Mark and David now have a commanding lead in the Houston Cup over the other riders going forward into next week’s race.
